About Power Hours at The Commons
Power Hours are weekly group sessions where entrepreneurs meet with some of the most well-respected entrepreneurs, subject-matter experts, and professionals in the region. These volunteer mentors share their entrepreneurial insights and provide feedback on startups, products or services, industries, or fledgling ideas.
It’s not a pitch event. Power Hours volunteers are here to help entrepreneurs navigate the entrepreneurial journey. It’s a chance for entrepreneurs to ask for feedback and advice that can help them meet their business challenges and goals.
Power Hours are held weekly at The Commons on Champa and are free and open to the entrepreneurial public. All participants are highly encouraged to attend the one-time Commons Community 101 to learn more about local entrepreneurial resources and best practices in building mentor relationships.

Mindful Leadership Collective is a place for entrepreneurs and impact-driven leaders to connect and explore topics around mindful leadership in a safe, empowering, inclusive and supportive community. We will have facilitated conversation, mastermind style, around a new topic each month. Come with curiosity, an open mind and open heart, and be prepared to share experiences, challenges, best practices and innovative ideas. You will walk out with new actions you can take to grow your impact.
In November, we will be discussing the role of gratitude in mindful leadership, including:
- Why is gratitude important in leadership?
- What role does gratitude play in our lives?
- What practices can we create to make gratitude part of our daily lives?
Community 101 sessions are open to anyone interested in The Commons and the local entrepreneurship scene.
Work for Yourself @50+ is a three hour workshop from the AARP Foundation that helps starters over age 50 explore what self-employment looks like in today’s economy and whether it’s something to personally pursue. Registration required.
