As a result, trying to determine where to start can be overwhelming — especially for Underrepresented Entrepreneurs. In this session, we’ll explore the Public and Private Capital Funding pipeline and the future funding landscape through the 5 W’s Framework:

  • When should you Raise Capital?
  • Where do you Raise Capital (Public or Private)?
  • What do you legally need to know to Raise Capital?

Capital Conversation is a three-part series designed to educate Underrepresented Entrepreneurs on the fundamentals and strategies needed to raise capital in Colorado. The series will help participants determine if they are ready to raise capital and show them how to do it. Each session is designed for Underrepresented Entrepreneurs in early-stage companies. This includes People of Color, Women, Entrepreneurs based in Rural Coloradan communities, Veterans, LGBTQ+ Entrepreneurs, and/or First-Time Entrepreneurs.

Osa Aihie

Entrepreneur, Investor, State Department Fellow

Osa serves as a fractional CMO and growth consultant for venture-backed companies. He’s worked with organizations like BBVA and Match Group to launch and scale early-stage startups across multiple industries. In addition to his operational expertise, Osa conducts private equity investments in the Southern and Western regions of Africa. At Capital Studio he helps early-stage companies and underrepresented entrepreneurs gain access to capital from public and private entities.

Virginia SYC, Esq.

Entrepreneur, Lawyer, Investor, and AmeriCorps Alumni.

Virginia is a former Strategy Analyst and Consultant for Fortune 100 Companies and served as BNY Mellon Securities Counsel. While not trying to bridge the funding gap between the public and private sector with Capital Studio, she develops in-house corporate innovation programs, vets portfolios for accelerators, founded investment ventures in Cannabis, and currently serves as proxy for Family Offices abroad.
