Work for Yourself @ 50+ is a three hour workshop from the AARP Foundation that helps starters over age 50 explore what self-employment looks like in today’s economy and whether it’s something to personally pursue. Work for Yourself@50+ can help you gain the knowledge, support and resources you need to make informed decisions about working for yourself — and figure out the right first steps toward successful self-employment.
The 50+ demographic is often overlooked by entrepreneurial communities. By joining us in this workshop, you will be able to explore your options, find your focus, make a plan, watch out for pitfalls, and connect with resources in your community.
- Explore the advantages and challenges of working for yourself
- Land an idea for your venture
- Gain encouragement from peers also exploring their options
- Find connections to further program support and resources
